What is NZ Immigration?
 
New Zealands skilled Migration Category (SMC) allows people with the skills and qualifications that New Zealand values to get residence or a permit to work. What is the criteria to apply?

You need to aged from 20-55 (inclusive). You also have to meet their standard of health, character and English Language Proficiency before you start the process. Besides above, you have to get 100 points to submit your application in pool.
 

Is there any requirement of IELTS?

Yes, 6.5 Bands
 

Overview Of Skilled Migrant Category:

If you are interested in applying under the skilled migrant category, you must meet their requirements. You need to be:
  • In the age group from 20-55 (inclusive)
  • You also have to meet their standards of health and characters.
  • English language proficiency before you start the process.
 
Once application and documents are fully assessed and appraised, New Zealand immigration Authority will offer you a residence visa or permit. The entire process of an application normally complete within 5-6 months.
 

What kind of Visa is granted?

Either 2 years residence permit or 9 months work permit.
 

How long will it take to get NZ passport?

After 02 years from the date of entering NZ
 
Can I move to Australia?
Yes, on work permit
 
Procedures to Apply:
 

1. Qualification Assessment

Before making your immigration application, all Pakistani applicant need to make their qualification assessed by NZQA. There are two types of assessment:
 
  • Preliminary assessment (for EOI).
  • Full assessment (for application to residence)
 
2. The Expression of Interest
  • This is an online assessment form in which you claim point for skills, experience and other factors.
  • If you have obtained 100 point or more on your EOI, it goes into the pool.
  • Every fortnight, EOI`s are selected on the basis of various factors.
 

3. Invitation to Apply:

Once your EOI is drawn from the pool, NZI examines it and if finds it credible, they send you invitation to apply (ITA).
 
Now you have to make your full application to show documentary proof of the claims made on your EOI. This means medical and police certificates, proof of English language ability and documentation regarding your skills, experience, and other factors.
 
Full Assessment:
  • Once NZI receive your application and documents, they start assessing you for residence.
  • NZI make sure that you meet all their requirements, and that your points claimed are valid.
  • They will also assess you on your ability to settle in New Zealand successfully.
  • NZI may consider you able based on your application, or they may wish to interview you.
